How to stay motivated

10

When we are feeling good about ourselves, we often feel like we can do anything. But when we are in a rough patch, it’s difficult to stay motivated and focused on our goals. First and foremost its normal to go through periods of feeling unmotivated… with this being said I’ve wrote a few tips below that can help when you are feeling that way.

  1. Purpose – find your purpose

It’s a beautiful thing when you know your purpose in life, having a purpose is synonymous to staying motivated and finding success. It is difficult to stay motivated when you don’t have a reason as to why you should be doing something. Your purpose is how you will keep going because when you are feeling drained, tired and unmotivated. That purpose will be the reason why you will continue and push through those negative emotions. You won’t stay down for too long if you know your purpose.

On that note, think about what you want out of life, through the process of discovering yourself, figuring out what you love and enjoy is where you will find your purpose. For example, I write everything down, when I’m doing something I focus on how that makes me feel – does it make me feel drained?, do I enjoy it? I also ask myself questions such as ‘who am I?’ and ‘what do I want?’ and I meditate on that. This has been the best way for me to fully picture how I want my life to look and ultimately manifest this into existence.

  1. Focusing on yourself

Tunnel vision – when it comes to your life and goals. I understand that this is not easy especially with social media, we all feed into it and many only post their successes, not their failures or downfalls. So it is easy to fall into the trap of thinking you are not doing enough. Remind yourself that you are your own person on your own journey and In order for you to reach your goals its important to focus solely on yourself. What you see on socials should not dictate how you should be living. Do use others successes as motivation but, your time will come, focus on achieving YOUR goals.

  1. Express gratitude

We live in an era where there is pressure to have everything together at a young age. Causing us to feel dissatisfied with the things we have in our lives and constantly seeking to achieve more instantly. Whilst I do think it is imperative to think ahead, It is just as important to take a step back and express gratitude. Especially if you have received some of the things that at one point you wanted. Express gratitude for the position you are in now, it allows you to be content and ready for what comes next.

  1. Patience

Lastly, everything will fall into place, trust that things will manifest at the right time. Although you may not believe it now, everything will eventually become clear. Stop trying to rush through life. Accept where you are and be patient.
