Letting Go

In the process of letting go, you will lose many things from the past, but you will find yourself.

– Deepak Chopra

The process of letting go can be tedious and difficult. Letting go may look like letting go of life, people, your past, situations, things. It will never be easy to let go of what we know, love or care about. However, there are some things that are too damaging for us to hold onto, and other times we are forced to let go because that’s the only choice we have to move forward.

At first you may not understand why some things happen. The purpose may seem unclear, and you’re left confused because you were blindsided and didn’t expect it. You might have had a plan, and now that plan isn’t going how expected. But there is power in letting go, there is power in learning to change directions and having faith that this new direction will lead you to peace and enlightenment. Changed plans aren’t always a bad thing. My experiences have taught me that the plan we have for our life may not be the plan that the Divine has for us. You might think you have it all figured out, and then something happens to remind us that we cannot control everything, and we must be willing to take life as it comes.

You also have to consider that when you put other people into your plans, this can go left because other people do what they want to do. You can’t control the behaviour of others who will remind you why they are not supposed to be a part of your plan, a part of your life going forward. Your direction in life may not align with other peoples’ so it’s ok to let them go.

Letting go doesn’t remove fear, worry, or pain. In fact, the process can intensify those feelings, but the other side of letting go is peace, clarity, and growth.

Make room for better, for more and for good.
