Womanhood

Noun /ˈwʊmənhʊd/

The state or condition of being a woman.

There is something about turning 25 that hits different.

I feel like I am beginning to come into my womanhood. I feel stable, I look good, I understand myself more and know exactly what I want out of life. My purpose has become clearer to me as I’ve aged. This is reflective in how I am presenting myself to the world, I am showing up authentically and it’s satisfying to present myself exactly how I feel within.

Ageing is such a beautiful experience. People want to be young forever, but with age comes wisdom. Every year of my life I learn more about myself and become clearer about what I want. It’s a blessing to experience life from mature lens.

Womanhood puts the microscope on your core values and standards because the more you age the more you understand yourself. This is why you shouldn’t rush growth. Social media has young people presenting themselves in ways that are much older than they are. Many young people are giving in to the pressure to have their life figured out, to be women when they’re still girls.

Coming into womanhood is a process. Allow yourself to explore the depths of your personality, explore your body, fashion sense, likes and dislikes. Expand your mind to different ways of being and not just conforming to what looks socially acceptable. I completely believe that if you give yourself the time to do this, coming into womanhood becomes a better experience.

To be a woman is powerful, to come into your womanhood is even more powerful.
